Steve Gostin is an accomplished educator and has been a leader in the hospitality industry for over 30 years. Having worked his way through the industry; from host to bartender, to general manager, director and vice president positions, Steve has managed multi-million dollar operations with great success. From independent startups to nightclubs and even California gaming, Steve has created a program of development that promotes training, coaching, and motivation in business.

 

As The Program Chair (and professor) for Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management programs at The Art Institute of California-Orange County, Steve provided management and leadership training to students in the Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Programs.  Steve has instructed the following hospitality courses: Food & Beverage Operations Management, Management & Supervision, HR Management, Purchasing & Costs Controls, and Intro to Hospitality Accounting.  

 

Steve then served as an adjunct-professor and coordinator for the culinary and hospitality programs at Santa Ana College, School of Continuing Education and has created hospitality curriculum along with a new culinary program that includes the line-cook certification program as well as curriculum for a restaurant business course. Steve continues to work on projects within the community and is looking to expand on his education and training programs.

 

Steve is the Co-Founder and Executive Director for California Culinary Coalition, a non-profit created to feed those in need and provide education and training to those looking to obtain employment in the hospitality industry.

 

Steve also founded Orange Coast Baseball Group and is a youth baseball coach and is creating programs to help improve youth baseball play in the community as well as help young athletes learn the basics on and off the field.

 

Steve has also instructed for the Mira Costa College Community Education program and is a small business consultant with the San Diego SBDC office and shares his experiences for opening a Cottage Permit or Homebased Food Business.

 

Steve opened numerous independent restaurants and nightclubs and working with a variety of concepts in developing their training and management programs by providing coaching strategies, skills, and education for the management and leadership teams.

 

Steve resides in the heart of Orange County, California. He possesses a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and a Master of Arts degree in Education. He is an accomplished educator, coach, trainer, speaker, and writer.
